First summer is here,
the lake so mild.
Summer has come
to the water-child.
That little poem is an excerpt from Around the Year by Elsa Beskow. It is a delightful book about each of the months of the year...and we are truly exemplifying summer! Yesterday we had swim lessons (but no swimming in Opechee due to blue-green algae warning)...and then we were invited up to the Chapman's house and beach on Squam. We had fun...Mia and Eli floated about and Adah and Benj stayed a litttle closer to shore. We ate dinner on the barge and then took a fun cruise on the lake. Mia wanted to go "fast!" We saw baby bald eagles stretching their wings high atop a tree in their nest. After our cruise we played a bit more until Eli was turning blue and it was jammie time. I was hoping that my kiddos would fall asleep in the car--but no such luck! We got home and had a snack and by 10 pm all 3 of us were fast asleep. (5 more sleeps Daddy!)

Unfortunately, the post did not come up on my connection, but Kim told me how much the kiddos loved the beach today. I only wish I was there. Mia jumping of the dock and Ben playing in the sand. The only thing better would be the whole Lynch clan in Brazil with me.
Tom
Hey, Tom, We missed you! Glad the rest of you could come enjoy the lake and the first cruise of the season! We'll have to repeat with Tom later this summer.
